Question by Eric K: Should the SEC investigate fraudulant "carbon credit" companies?
It seems the fraudulant nature of companies that sell "carbon credits" is being investigated, and so far the data is not good.
Many of these companies simply plant a seedling or two and claim to have removed the threat of tons of CO2 from the planet's atmosphere. I would think even Rosie O'Donell could do the math on this equation.
Al Gore claims he lives a "carbon neutral" lifestyle, although he has 4 mansions and consumes up to 20 times as much energy as the average American in each abode. He also flies everywhere by private jet, using tens of thousands of pounds of jet fuel each month. He says this is all covered because he purchases "carbon credits" and he owns the company that provides them.
Is this all simply the greatest case of fraud the world has ever seen?

The SEC should investgate all fraudlent activity by any corporation, such as the health benefits of smoking, once advertised by tobacco companies
Because of Al Gore's wasteful habits, we all swear not to elect him as President again.

I think Dun & Bradstreet owns or has a relationship with Moody's.
In that case, just go to Moody's website. Membership is free although the features available are somewhat limited. But if it's companies you're after, it should do.

to be honest. it's cheaper and fast to actually pull your own credit report and do it yourself.
take care of the little items first, pay them off whole.
if you have other debt over a few thousands, negotiate a lower price and make montly payments that way they can send in notification to the agencies that you are paying.
it can take you about 3-6 months to do this. the same amount of time one of those companies can do it and they charge an arm and a leg, sometimes other body parts, too.
